UPDATE: Telemarketers

We talked about telemarketers recently and had a great poll going on the site with a lot of feedback. Thanks to everyone who voted!

I also have been getting a lot of automated calls with a pre-recorded voice. Those are even more frustrating as they have no human element and are only just a distraction.

On a whim last week I decided to press the ZERO button on the phone to see if I could get an operator and ask to be taken off the list. Suprisingy, 2 times out of 5 it has worked. Once I got a real person who was very kind and took me off the list. And just now I got another automated voice that said I could press "2" to be removed from the call list.

Just a tip to help you with your day!

Thanks, Steve... wait. You're starting to sound pretty sneaky.

Hmmmm.

Great podcast! Love the interaction between the three of you.

I think the podcast has improved a lot in the last 10-12 episodes. Looking forward to the next one!

Just listened to the latest podcast and I'm going to go download the rest of them. I agree with the baylor guy, the interaction is what makes this podcast go.

Thanks, Guys!

We're going to ride this thing like a tow dollar Mexican circus donkey!

When does the next episode come out?

Also, I have an idea for a podcast. How about one that deals with how you interact with pets. Those that you own when you have guests and those owned by your friends when you visit them.

For instance, I often go to a friends house and they have a dog. And the dog likes to be pet. A lot. But I don't particularly like dogs. How rude is it of me to ignore the dog? How rude is it of my friends to allow the dog in to bother me, when they are aware I don't like dogs?

Oops!

I'm not sure which podcast you're looking for. Which is that last one you heard?

Ep. 22 should be released by Sunday, Nov, 19th.

Thanks for listening!

Where was Chris? Who's Derek? Is this a permanent change?

VillageIdiot said...

I just checked the bios and Derek is on there already. I guess I haven't gotten to a podcast that he was on.

If he's been gone for a while, maybe that explains why the last podcast didn't seem to have the same energy as the previous ones. I'll look forward to the interaction improving if the change is permanent.

Thanks for responding, too!

Hey Trent,

Never really heard back from you on Chris. Just listened to the new episode. It's a little better than the last as far as the interaction goes. I guess it's just different than what I was getting used to. Is Derek standing in for Chris temporarily or is it a permanent move?

And I did think the "restroom" stuff was a bit of a step down content-wise. I think you guys should have probably stuck with your rule about keeping that door closed.

Thanks!

Thanks for the honesty. I did try to email about Chris and Derek. I'm not sure if it went through.

Chris has left our office, and I'm not sure if he would feel comfortable coming back up... not due to The MannersCast if it matters to you.

Derek is in for now; however, I might try and get Blair back in the saddle for a few episodes.

Thanks for listening!

Trent,

I've been out of town on business, so I haven't checked my alternate email address.

That's too bad about Chris, I thought he really helped the podcast maintain its momentum. And given my choice I'd definitely take Derek over Blair. Should I say that on a public board? Blair if you're reading, no offense.

Trent, I'll check my email and get back to you. Oh, one more thing. All of you guys work in the same office? That is pretty cool. I bet it is a pretty fun office.

I worked as a telemarketer for 4 hours. Worst 4 hours of my life.

After quitting as I left, I couldn't even bring myself to show up at the end of the week to pick up my paycheck, although in HS ~$85 was a LOT of money to me.

Shoot, I'd take that right now.

YES! That's good when the paycheck isn't even worth the headache!
